Time at #Windaba2023 this week has made me reflect on the brand Kayldan and where it all started.
In 2011, I left my Corporate role within FMCG. I started consulting on talent.
My first few clients were also in FMCG at that time. Most of my work came to me through referrals, and we recruited and consulted in the industry.
In 2019, through a referral, I met an IPP for coaching work and to lead their strategic session.
I completed the coaching, and throughout the engagement, there was a vacant role for some time, and in every discussion, this role was mentioned.
Although I had stepped away from Recruitment work, I saw my client struggle with this role and the industry. After 18 months of witnessing them not being able to fill the role, I asked the CEO if she would trust me with the role. I had candidates in front of her a couple of weeks later, and she made an offer to an incredible person still at the business, adding value.
This CEO started referring Kayldan to other companies in the Renewable energy space, and today, we work in Solar and Wind, along with our clients in Gas and Financial Services.
I have always been curious about people, how they think and behave, what drives them, what is important to them, and what is unique about them. I use this curiosity in every interview I conduct, in every teambuilding I do, and in every coaching session. In return, engaging with me is always about how I can bring out the best in you and how I can do the best for my clients.
It has been an incredible journey, and I am honoured to serve the industries I work in and will continue to do so.
